SAT scholarships and financial aid for Pakistani students
Last verified
The strongest option for Pakistani students who need financial aid is a US university that is need-blind for international students and meets 100% of demonstrated need. In 2026–27 there are ten: Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Amherst, Dartmouth, Bowdoin, Notre Dame, Brown and Washington and Lee. These universities admit you without considering your ability to pay, then cover the gap between what your family can pay and the full cost.
Three terms you need to know

|---|---|
| Need-blind | Your request for financial aid does not affect the admission decision. |
| Need-aware | Your aid request can be considered in the admission decision, which can make admission harder for students who need aid. |
| Meets full need | If admitted, the university covers 100% of your demonstrated financial need, usually with grants that do not need to be repaid. |

How the SAT helps your scholarship chances
- Admission comes first. At need-blind universities, getting in is the scholarship, and the SAT is required at most of the ten for 2026–27.
- A strong score reduces doubt. Admissions officers use the SAT to compare students from different school systems, including Matric/FSc, O/A Levels and others.
- Merit scholarships. Many universities outside the top tier offer merit scholarships, and a high SAT score is often a key factor.
What else you will usually need
- Financial aid forms, such as the CSS Profile or the university’s own form for international students
- Proof of English proficiency, such as TOEFL, IELTS or the Duolingo English Test, unless waived
- School transcripts, teacher recommendations and essays
