How the 180 marks are split

Biology has exactly as many MCQs as Chemistry and Physics put together, so it deserves the biggest share of your remaining study time.
Each correct answer earns one mark and a wrong answer costs nothing. Never leave a question unattempted.
If a book, academy or website shows 200 or 210 questions, or Biology at 34%, it is using an older MDCAT pattern. The 2026 test uses the 180-MCQ pattern above.

In every 20 questions, do about 9 Biology, 5 Chemistry, 4 Physics, 1 English and 1 Logical Reasoning. Time yourself and write down every question you get wrong.

Sit one full 180-question paper
Do it in one sitting within the time printed on your roll number slip. Then go through each mistake until you can explain why the right answer is right.

Revise lightly and get ready
Read your mistake notes instead of starting new chapters. Check your slip, plan the route to your centre, pack what the slip asks for and sleep early.

Test day
Reach the centre before the reporting time. With no negative marking, answer every question, even when you have to guess.

Common questions
When is MDCAT 2026?
Sunday, 20 September 2026. PMDC moved the test from 16 August to 20 September in a notice dated 6 August 2026, and said all other arrangements stay the same.
How many questions are in MDCAT 2026?
180 MCQs: Biology 81, Chemistry 45, Physics 36, English 9 and Logical Reasoning 9. PMDC confirmed that the 2025 syllabus and pattern also apply to 2026.
Is there negative marking in MDCAT 2026?
No. A wrong answer does not cut any marks, so attempt every question.
Can I still register for MDCAT 2026?
No. Registration closed in July 2026, and moving the test date did not reopen it. Check pmdc.pk in case PMDC issues a new notice.
Where do I get my MDCAT roll number slip?
From PMDC's MDCAT portal at mdcat.pmdc.pk. The slip shows your test centre and reporting time.
