Conducted byNED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi

NED Pre-Admission Entry Test — the admission test for BE and BS programmes at NED University, Karachi (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Computer Systems, Chemical, BS Computer Science and others).

Purpose of the test

What NED Entry Test is for

NED University holds a computer-based pre-admission entry test for all first-year BE and BS programmes. You must score at least 50% to qualify, and the entry test then carries 60% of merit, with HSSC Part I at 40%.

The test runs in two phases. You may sit both and the higher score is used. NED uses English as a full quarter of the paper, more than any other engineering test.

Accepted for

  • All NED BE programmes
  • NED BS programmes (CS, Data Science, Cyber Security and others)
  • Merit: 60% test + 40% HSSC-I

Test centres: NED Main Campus, Karachi

NED questions are realistic and calculation-friendly: because calculators are allowed, Physics and Chemistry numericals use real values rather than neat numbers. The equal split means you cannot hide a weak subject, and English at 25% rewards strong reading.

Curriculum

Syllabus by subject

Each linked topic opens a ladder of 10 adaptive tests pitched one step above the real NED Test. Questions you see for NED Test are not reused in other universities' series.
